Ethel L. (Schafer) Robison, 85, of
Onstead, Mich., formerly of Lakeville, Ind., passed away at 12:30
p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, at the University Medical Center,
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
She worked at the Ridgedale Nursing Home for
over 20 years.
he was born on Sept. 9, 1912, in South Bend,
Ind., to the late Osco and Naoma (Bennett) Nolen.
Mrs. Schafer-Robison had lived in the South Bend area most all of
her life.
She was married on April 21, 1935, in
Lakeville, to Ralph C. Schafer, who died on Aug. 23, 1982.
She is survived by one daughter, Naomi (Doyle) Rodenbeck
of Onstead; two sons, Dennis (Teddy) Schafer of Lakeville and
Duane (Elaine) Schafer of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and by seven
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Then, she was married
on Oct. 12, 1985, in Lakeville, to George G. Robison, who
survives. She is also survived by one stepdaughter, Joan Hirth
of South Bend; three stepsons, Jack Robison of Illinois, Roger
Robison of Florida and Walter James Robison of South Bend; and by
several step-grand and great-grandchildren. Ethel was preceded in
death by a son, Darrell D. Schafer; six sisters; and by one
brother.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday
at the Beaver Creek Wesleyan Church, 66027 Redwood Road, North
Liberty. Rev. Jim Gillette and Rev. R. Kevin Cherry will
officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the Palmer Funeral
Home, and one hour prior to services at Beaver Creek Wesleyan
Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart
or the American Lung Association.
