SOUTH BEND - LaKenya Nicole "Kelo" Robinson passed away
suddenly at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010, in Memorial Hospital.
LaKenya, who resided on South Carroll Street, South Bend,
Indiana, was 35 years of age. On January 20, 1975, in South Bend,
LaKenya was born to the union of Leroy and Sally (Alexander)
Robinson. She was educated in the South Bend public school system
and was employed for the past four years by Super 8 Motel.
LaKenya was a loving, giving, caring and kind person who was very
lovable. She was always willing to help others. She was
particularly fond of dancing and singing. Also, she was a former
member of New Hope Baptist Church. Best of all, she was a good
mother. LaKenya has left a host of loving family members that
includes two daughters, Sally Samari Spencer and Meyonnie
Spencer; one son, Damien J. Wafford Jr.; her parents, Sally
Alexander and Leroy Robinson, all of South Bend; one brother,
Marcus Lee Robinson of Mobile, AL; paternal grandmother, Alice L.
Plump; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other cousins and
friends of South Bend. Family members who preceded her in death
include her maternal grandmother, Gloria Alexander; maternal
great-grandmother, Minnie Burton; maternal great-grandfather,
R.C. Alexander; an aunt, Pearline Alexander; uncle, John Henry
Alexander; great-aunts, Lillie Mae Harden, Pearl Malone and
Katherine Malone. Funeral services for Ms. Robinson will be held
at 1 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010, in St. Paul Bethel Baptist
Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, South
Bend. Friends may call in the church one hour prior to the
services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's
