MISHAWAKA - Julia G. Robinson, 85, of Mishawaka, passed away
peacefully on Saturday morning, January 30, 2010, in her home.
Julia was born August 27, 1924, in Mishawaka, a daughter of the
late Michael and Julia (Sverenok) Gulyanics. She grew up in
Mishawaka and graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1942. Julia
married her high school sweetheart, Vere Robinson, on August 17,
1946, in First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka. The couple
made Mishawaka their home. Julia assisted her husband in the
operation of the family real estate and insurance business, the
Vere Robinson Agency. Her memberships included First United
Methodist Church in Mishawaka, the United Methodist Women, the
Pilot Club of South Bend since 1952, the South Bend Symphony
Guild and the South Bend Art League. Most of all, Julia's family
was the center of her life. She particularly found great joy in
helping care for her two grandsons. Julia's surviving family
includes her two daughters, Karen Sue Robinson of Granger and Amy
L. (Michael) Musary of Lake Orion, Michigan; two grandsons,
Michael and Matthew Musary; a sister, Violet Christian of San
Gabriel, California; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Parker of San
Diego, California; and many nieces and nephews. Julia was
preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 1/2 years, Vere,
who passed away January 30, 2003, which was exactly seven years
to the day prior to Julia's passing. She was also preceded in
death by two sisters, Mary Sweeney and Elsie Groh; and a brother,
George Gulyanics. Friends may spend time with Julia's family
Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in Thallemer, Goethals & Wells
Funeral Home, 503 West Third Street, Mishawaka. Services honoring
her life will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in First United
Methodist Church, Mishawaka, with Pastor Larry Whitehead
officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens,
Osceola. Contributions in Julia's memory may be made to the Pilot
International Foundation, PO Box 4844, Macon, GA 31213; or to
First United Methodist Church, 201 East Third Street, Mishawaka,
IN 46544. Assistance with memorials is available through the
funeral home.
