SOUTH BEND - Joe Ellis Robinson, 84, of Miami Lakes, FL, passed
away Friday, March 5, 2010. He was born on August 30, 1925, to
Milton and Millie Robinson of Kewana, Indiana. After graduating
from Riley High School, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from
1943-1947. On September 26, 1943, he married Rose Marie LaCava at
The Church of The Little Flower in Syracuse, IN. Joe was employed
at A&P Stores, McCann's Meat Market, Normandy Night Club and
the Kaiser-Robinson Market which he co-owned in Indiana. He also
assisted in operating the family owned Casa Maria Restaurant at
Lake Wawasee, IN. He moved to Florida in 1954 and worked in the
food industry his entire life, and just recently retired from Bob
Rowe Sales after 41 years. He was the former vice president of
the North Miami Jaycees. He became a JC1 Senator #788 in 1968,
and was a past associate member of the Epicurean Club of Miami.
He was an usher at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church where he
was a member. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; two
brothers, Paul and Voris; and by a sister, Jeanette Batson. He is
survived by his wife, Rose Marie (LaCava) Robinson of 61 years,
and by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may
be made to Catholic Hospice of Miami Lakes, FL.
