SOUTH BEND - Visitation for Neil V. Robertson will be from
11:00 am to noon, Monday in The McGann Hay Funerals/
Cremations/Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter off
Cherry Rd.).
Born October 16, 1923 in South Bend, IN, the
son of Neil and Helen (nee Davies) Robertson, he passed away
April 25, 2008 at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva, IL. Neil
served in the US Army during WWII. He graduated from Harvard
University and earned an MBA degree from Northwestern University.
In 1954 he married Marcia Frye. They resided in Evanston, IL
until their move to St. Charles, IL in 2003. Neil served as
President of Davies Laundry and Dry Cleaning Company until the
sale of the family owned business in 1973. He was then employed
as Business Manager for Charles D. Spencer & Sons until his
retirement. Neil enjoyed reading, sailing, and spending time at
his summer home in WI. He was active in the 1st Presbyterian
Church of Evanston, serving as both a Deacon and Elder. Neil's
good nature, intelligence and wonderful sense of humor will be
truly missed by his family and friends who loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years,
Marcia; daughter Connie (James) Meister of St. Charles,
IL; son Bruce (Anne) Robertson of Midland, TX; daughter Carolyn
(Christopher) Meyer of Indianapolis, IN; and his six
grandchildren, Carolyn Meister, John Meister, Craig Meister,
Philip Robertson, Elizabeth Robertson, and Carl Meyer. Neil was
preceded in death by his parents, brother Davies Robertson, and
sister Helen Habicht. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions to the Delnor Health Care Foundation, 300 Randall
Road, Geneva, IL 60134 would be appreciated.
