James K. Roberts

October 9, 1921 – November 25, 1983

James K. Roberts, 62, of 2228 Portage Avenue, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon in his residence.  He was a design engineer at the Bendix Corp. for the past 15 years.

He was born on October 9, 1921, in Southwest Harbor ME, and lived here for 37 years, coming from St Louis MO.

He was married on November 15, 1947, in South Bend, to Doris Peterson.  She survives along with two sons, Mark K. of Minneapolis MN, and Philip T. of Washington DC; his mother, Mrs. Catherine Roberts of Grand Rapids MI; and two sisters, Mrs. Marion Tropis of Mendota IL and Mrs. Peggy Reed of Grand Rapids MI.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to9pm Sunday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II.  He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and a graduate of IUSB.
