Robert J. ''Robo'' Robakowski, Sr.,
79, of South Harris Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 9:15 p.m.
on Thursday, Feb. 25, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1919 in South Bend, and had lived in
this area all of his life. He retired in 1984 from the South Bend
Range Company. Mr. Robakowski was an Army Veteran of World War II
and a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357.
He was married on Aug. 28, 1946 to Eugenia Kobylarek,
who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Shirley
Felts and Sharon (Paul) Martin, both of South Bend, and
Debbie (Bob) De Ferbrache of Elkhart, Ind.; three sons,
Richard (Bonnie) Robakowski, Robert Robakowski, Jr. and Michael
Robakowski, all of South Bend; 12 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Alice Opaczewski of
South Bend. Mr. Robakowski was preceded in death by a
granddaughter, Rebecca Robakowski, who died on Nov. 16, 1985.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.
today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road,
where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m.
on Monday in St. Casimir Catholic Church, with burial to follow
at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the
