Joan M. “Joanie” Robakowski, 50, of South Bend, Ind., died at 10:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, in Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1949, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.
Miss Robakowski is survives by her mother, Margaret (Nemeth) Robakowski of South Bend; her brother, John Robakowski of South Bend, and by a niece, Lori Robakowsi of South Bend.
She shared many joyous times and had a special relationship with Pam McCormick, one of her best friends, in the last year. Her other best friend Pam also shared special occasions and a large part of Joan’s life. Joan especially loved and had a special relationship with her niece, Lori Robakowski.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Sept. 8, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m.
Services will be at 10 a.m. in St, Stephen Catholic Church, with burial to follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1102 West Thomas Street, South Bend, IN 46601-2643.
