SOUTH BEND - O. Donn Ritter, 83, of Regency Place, formerly of 765 W. Laurelwoods Court, died at 5 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Ritter retired as a well driller from

Consolidated Plumbing & Heating Co. in 1981 after 30 years of service. He was born Sept. 11, 1910, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Sept. 7, 1947, in South Bend, he married Marion J. Plant. She survives with two daughters, Nancy S. Richards of Granger and Sherrie A. Dill of Dowagiac; two grandchildren; a sister, Louise

Coskey of Mishawaka; and four brothers, Francis, Archie, Charles L. and Joseph, all of South Bend. He was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Ave. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
