Mishawask Obituaries
Bert L. Ritter

Bert L. Ritter, 78, of 1310 Forrest Ave., died at 1: 30 a.m. Sunday
in St. Joseph's Hospital where he was admitted the day before when he
became ill suddenly.  Mr. Ritter was a resident of Mishawak for 60
years, coming here from Huntington, Ind.  He was born in Kosciusko
County, Aug. 9, 1988.  A retired employee of the Ball Band plant,
where he worked for 47 years, Mr. Ritter was a member of the Ball
Band Foremen's Club and was a charter member of the Immanuel Baptist
Church here.  He married Clara E. Sudlow in Mishawaka on Aug. 14,
1909.  She survives allong with two sons, Gerald R. Ritter of South
Bend, and Warren A. Ritter, of Mishawaka; four daughters, Mrs. James
Doherrty, Mrs. Robert Love, and Mrs. Eldien Powell, all of Mishawaka,
and Mrs. Forrest Dillon, of Fort Meyers, Fla.; three brothers, Melvin
C. Ritter, of Merritt Island, Fla.; Carl and Paul Ritter, of
Mishawaka; four sisters, Mrs. Elmer Replogle, of Elkhart; Mrs. Hugh
McNair, and Mrs. Bonnie Whisman, of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Marjorie
Harris, of Pierceton, Ind.; twenty-one grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren also survive.  Friends may call in the Bubb
Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. today.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral Notes

RITTER-- Friends of Bert L. Ritter, 78, of 1310 Forest Ave., may call
in the Bubb Funeral Chapel until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.  Mr. Ritter
died Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital.  The body will be taken to the
Immanuel Baptist Church where friends may call from 1 p.m. until 3
p.m., Wednesday, the hour of the funeral services.  Rev. Donald
Glasgow, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
