Traffic accidents took the lives of two persons on Northern Indiana highways Wednesday night. The victims:

MRS. GENEVIEVE NOWICKI, 40 of 414 Warren St., who was killed instantly in a crash on Ind 223, two miles northeast of Crumstown near Peach Rd. about 10:40 o’clock.

MILTON JOHN RITCHEY, 33, of 414 Dewey St., Michigan City, died of injuries suffered in an accident on U.S. 35, two and a half miles north of  LaPorte, about 9:45 o’clock.   The driver of the car in which Mrs. Nowicki was riding, John Peter Korytkowski, 49, of 2010 Western Ave., is reported in critical condition in Memorial Hospital. He suffered multiple fractures and head injuries when the car careened 142 feet off the highway, bounced back onto the road, overturned and slid 62 feet on its side.   Deputy Sheriffs Abraham Pomeranz and Frank Parry said Korytkowski apparently was driving too fast to negotiate a turn. He was thrown from the car into the yard of the home of John Naiepinski, Crumstown Road. Mrs. Nowicki was thrown to the pavement.   Dr. Edward S. Sh??y, St. Joseph County coronor, said Mrs. Nowicki suffered a skull fracture and crushed chest. He ruled the death accidental. She was the county’s third traffic victim of 1955. At this time a year ago, 14 traffic deaths had been recorded.   Korytkowski was not taken to a room in the hospital until morning. Hospital attendants explained that his condition was too critical to allow his being moved from the emergency room.   Native of Terre Coupe.   Mrs. Nowicki was born in Terre Coupe Dec. 20, 1914, and came to South Bend from that community 39 years ago.
