Mr. Walt P. Risler, 74, of Granger,
Ind., passed away on Tuesday evening, June 2, in his home.
He was born on Nov. 4, 1923, in Scranton,
Pa., to Edwin A. and Marie (Johnson) Risler. He was
preceded in death by his son Rex; his parents; and by a sister,
Louise Zenev.
He moved to South Bend in 1950 from
Metuchen, N.J., and in 1953 he married the former Doris Stewart,
who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Noel Klopfenstein
of Bloomington, Ind., and Amy Alley of Fort Wayne, Ind;
three sons, Walt P., Jr., of Mishawaka, Ind., Daniel A. of
Austin, Texas, and Matthew, at home; five grandchildren, Neil and
Zoe Klopfenstein, Rex Alley, and Lena and Kira Risler; and by a
brother, Edwin A. Risler of Metuchen, N.J.
Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and
6 to 8 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033
Cleveland Road. Private services by the family will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung
Association.
