SOUTH BEND - Services for John A. Riley, 85, of 5024 Western Ave., who died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, were today in St. John Baptist Church. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. Alford's Mortuary handled arrangements.

Mr. Riley was a retired cook. He was born Aug. 20, 1909, in Cairo, Ill., and lived in South Bend since 1956. In 1939, in Cairo, he married Rudelle Burris. She preceded him in death. He is survived by a stepmother, Clara Riley of Osceola, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Ruth B. Chambers of South Bend; and three nieces and two nephews.
