Robert G. Riemland Sr., 69, of Fourth Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, in St. Joseph Community Hospital. He was born on Nov. 20, 1931, in St. Joseph, Mich., and had lived in this area most of his life. Robert retired from South Bend Freight in 1983. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Hattie (Fege) Riemland; and by his son, Robert G. Riemland Jr. in 1990.

Mr. Riemland married Vivian Filly in Stevensville, Mich., on June 7, 1960. She survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Deborah (Lester) LaPlace Sr. of Mishawaka and Pamela (Ronnie) Queen of Newella, Okla.; three sons, Randy and David Riemland of Mishawaka, and Kirk (Tammie) Carter of Mishawaka; 12 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren; a sister, Jean (Dick) Wagner of Mishawaka; a brother, Walt (Irene) Riemland of St. Joseph; and by a daughter-in-law, Katherine Riemland of Mishawaka.

There will be no visitation or funeral services for Mr. Riemland. The Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
