Robert Charles Rieffel, 81, of Jensen Beach, Fla., passed away on Saturday, May 2.
Born in Mishawaka, Ind., on May 4, 1916, he was the son of Robert R. and Lilas Bickel Rieffel. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Herbert.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois Wagner Rieffel; son, Robert D. and wife Karen of Okeechobee, Fla., and son Donald of Tucson, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Andrea Croslyn and husband Michael of Gainesville, Fla.; a grandson, David Rieffel of Rolla, Mo.; a sister, Glennadine Weisweaver; and by a brother, Jack Rieffel of Mishawaka, Ind.
Mr. Rieffel was a 1934 graduate of Mishawaka High School and was a 25-year employee of the Studebaker Corporation where he worked in the treasury department, in charge of payroll and pensions.
He was a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge 130 of Mishawaka, a past president of the Mishawaka Eagles Aerie, and was president of the Penn High School Building Corporation.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, at the First English Lutheran Church, Mishawaka, where Mr. Rieffel was a member prior to moving to Jensen Beach, Fla.
The family requests that friends wishing to make memorials in Mr. Rieffel's name do so to the First English Lutheran Church. There will be no flowers.
