George L. Rieder

October 21, 1905 – December 9, 1989

SOUTH BEND – George L. Rieder, 84, of Sommers St., was found dead in his home at 11:30am Saturday.  He retired in 1977, from the maintenance department of the F.W.Means Laundry.

Born October 21, 1905, in Detroit, he came to this area in 1920 from Detroit.  On March 3, 1928, in South Bend, he married Martha E. Swartz, who survives.  Also surviving are two daughters, Janice Wolfe of North Liberty and Joyce Turner of South Bend; two sons, Jack L. of South Bend and George W. of North Liberty; nine grandsons; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph J. Rieder of Flint MI.

Friends may call from 3 to 9pm Tuesday in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road, which is handling arrangements.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
