Sharon Kay Ridenour, 61, of Alabama Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind., on Monday, March 31, from a short but courageous bout of a rare form of liver cancer. She was born on Oct. 9, 1941, to John and Kathryn VanBelleghem, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John, who passed away on July 13, 2001.
She married Edward O. Ridenour on May 26, 1962. He survives. She is also survived by two sons, Curtis (Kimberly) Ridenour of South Bend and Robert ( Kim) Ridenour of Mishawaka; and by a sister, Rose (Larry) Sheneman of South Bend. Her three grandchildren, Zachary, Samantha and Ashleigh were the light of her life, and she lived every moment to be with them. She will be missed dearly by her many friends and family.
Sharon worked at the Uniroyal Plant until the birth of her sons, and later at Kraus' Dress Shop and Ziker Cleaners. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ridenour will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. today. Officiating the services Thursday will be Fr. Robert Yast of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with burial following the services at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society.
