MISHAWAKA - John W. Rickel, 70, of 56227 East Ave., died at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Mr. Rickel worked at Sibley Foundry, South Bend, and formerly worked as a security driver in South Bend. He was born April 17, 1923, in Marshall County.

Surviving are three sisters, Cleo Pontius of Logansport, Ind., Pauline Severold of South Bend and Willodean Metzger Andrew of Warsaw. He was a member of Mishawaka Senior Citizens and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Mishawaka and South Bend.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the V.A. Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
