Mishawaka – Daniel M. Rich, 78, of 409 W. 3rd Street, died at 4:55 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph Hospital. He had been ill for the last 18 months. Mr. Rich was born in Italy and came to Mishawaka in 1900.
He married Inez Ferrettie in Mishawaka in 1905, She died in 1938 and in 1941 he married Aline Fisher, who died in 1943.
Mr. Rich was employed by the Ball-Band plant from 1922 until 1949, when he retired. Surviving are three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Peter Riccio, Bridgeport. Conn. A son, Ronald E. Rich died in 1959.
Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Sunday and until services at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Very Rev. Msgr. Curt A, Suelzer, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Rich was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Church.
Editor: He was born in Castlefranco in Miscano, Benenvento, Italy as Mario Donato Riccio. He immigrated 4-5-1897.
The rosary will re recited today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home for Daniel M. Rich, 78, of 403 W., 3rd Street, who died Friday in St. Joseph Hospital following an illness if 18 months. Friends may call at the funral home until the service at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Very Rev. Msgr. Curt A. Suelzer, pastor will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Henry Ferrettie, Raymond Ferrettie, William Ferrettie, Joseph Czarnecki, Joseph Michele and William Duffy. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
