Retired Police Officer to be Buried Sunday
Funeral services for George Richardson, aged 62, a retired Mishawaka police officer, who died at noon Friday in his home, 1325 East Third street, will take place at 2:30 pm Sunday in East Mishawaka Methodist Church, Rev. Donald Bailey, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Friends may call at the residence until 11:30 am Sunday when the body will be taken to the church. Mr. Richardson had been in ill health for the last year. He was born Dec. 27, 187, in Penn township, south of Osceola, this county, and came here from Osceola 30 years ago. He married Miss Lulu A. Bliss March 23, 1904, in Penn township. Surviving are his wife and one daughter Mrs. George Barron, of this city. Mr. Richardson served for 23 years on the city police department and was retired from duty May 10,. 1940. Mr. Richardson was a member of East Mishawaka Church, Mishawaka lodge No. 130, Free & Accepted Masons; the Gleaners of Mint Arbor, Mishawaka, and the Fraternal Order of Police. Pall bearers will be members of the Masonic lodge. Masons will conduct the services at the grave. The pallbearers will be James L. Guy, Harry E. Dodt, Fred W. Noyes, Marshall L. Aydelott, Zell Z. Spencer and Russell R. Driver.
