Mildred Wiegand Rice

Mildred Wiegand Rice, 89, of St. Joseph's Care Center-Morningside, died at 11:05 p.m. Wednesday in the nursing home.  Mrs. Rice was a former employee of Golden Emblem Products.  She was born Aug. 21, 1903, in St. Joseph, and was a lifelong area resident.  In 1952, in South Bend, as Mildred Grise Wiegand, she married Earl Rice.  He died in 1987. She is survived by two sons, Myron H. Wiegand and Dennis A. Wiegand, both of South Bend, five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Grise of Wyatt [St. Joseph County,  Indiana].   She was a member of Calvary Temple.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday and one hour before services on Saturday in the funeral home.
