John B. Rice, 47, of Willow Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, in his residence. John was born in Mishawaka to Lowell and Adeline (Ciavatta) Rice on Nov. 23, 1953. John was owner and operator of J.R.'S Appliance Repair.

John married Cindy J. Nixon in Mishawaka in 1971. She survives. He is also survived by four daughters, Melissa Rice of Elkhart, Ind., Jody Rice of Mishawaka, Megan Rice of Tulsa, Okla., and Connie Baughman of Georgia; three grandchildren; his mother, Adeline Rice of Kenmore, N.Y.; two sisters, Becky (Francis) Keefe of Boston, Mass., and Martha (Dennis) Gregor of Kenmore; and by three brothers, Daniel (Connie) Rice of Seattle, Wash., Frank (Irma) Rice of South Bend, Ind., and Dayne (Julie) Rice of Niles, Mich.

Funeral services will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where family and friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time. Rev. Frank Pawlak Jr. will officiate the service. John was a good friend to all people.
