Frederick O. Reith

May 22, 1885 – December 18, 1974

Frederick O. Reith, 89, of 713 N Allen, died at 5:20am today in Memorial Hospital after a long illness.  Reith retired in 1950 from the Oliver Corp and was a former South Bend Community School Corp employee.

Born on May 22, 1885, in South Bend, he had lived here all his life.  On September 16, 1916, in South Bend, he married Anna A Dering, who died last September 6.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Eleanor William of Irvington NY; two granddaughters; a brother, Paul of South Bend, and a sister, Alga Reith of South Bend.

Services will be at 1pm Friday in the Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home.  Rev. Max B. Hayden, pastor of the St Peter’s United Church of Christ, of which Reith was a member, will officiate.  Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.

Friends may call form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Thursday in the funeral home.  Reith was a member of the Oliver Management Club. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of St Peter’s United Church of Christ.
