Dorothy Marie Reiter, 86, of 2821 Locust Lane, died at 8:50 p.m. Monday in Meridian Health Care-Cardinal. Mrs. Reiter was a secretary for the former Studebaker Corp. for five years. She was born Feb. 10, 1900, in Coldwater, Mich., and lived in South Bend most of her life. On June 30, 1924, in South Bend, she married J. Kenneth Reiter, who survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Mary Louise Vanderbosch of San Jose, Calif., Joan Kavanaugh of Oklahoma City, Okla., Therese Michaely of Vienna, Va., Margaret Christin of Westerville, Ohio, and Kathy Reiter of South Bend; three sons, John R. of St. Joseph, J. Dennis of Burbank, Calif., and David of San Diego; 31 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hickey Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Mrs. Reiter was a member of the church and the Legion of Mary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Council for the Retarded.
