Emery Reiner, 66, of 3522 S. Addison St., died at 6:10 a.m. today
in Memorial Hospital after a five-month illness. He was a retired
precision grinder for South Bend Screw Products Co., Inc. He was
born on April 20, 1904 in Austria, and came here 48 years ago
from there. On Oct. 1, 1929, in South Bend, he married Florence Griman,
who survives, along with two sons, Richard E. of South Bend, and
Ronald J. of Claredon Hills, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Peter Ryan
Jr. of South Bend; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Martin
Reiner of Germany, and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Hartzhauser,
Mrs. Wilma Wurzinger and Mrs. Ann Unger, all of
Austria.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 7 p.m. Friday
in the Zahoran Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be
recited at 7:15 p.m. Friday. Services will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Rev.
Daniel Pell officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Mr.
Reiner was a member of the German Club, the St. Stephens
Society and the South Bend Maennerchor Club.
