Sister Mary Alphius CSC, 90, died Sunday afternoon in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend after a lengthy illness. Born Aug. 12, 1885 in Germany as Regina Rees, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s, on Sept. 29, 1904. She was received as a novice Aug. 9, 1905 and made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1908. She was assigned to varvious ancillary services throughout her community life, serving in convents at St. Mary’s and Plymouth; and in California, Utah and Idaho. She returned to St. Mary’s Convent in 1970.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call today and until services.
