PLYMOUTH - Mildred P. Reese, 93, 3820 North King Road, Plymouth,
Ind., a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to
meet her Lord at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23. A lifetime Marshall
County resident, Mildred died of natural causes in the Mayflower Care
Center.
Born in Bremen on April 26, 1905, the daughter of Edwin
and Anna Heyde Kauffman, she graduated from Bremen High School
with the class of 1922. She then attended Bluffton College and
later taught at Borkholder Amish School in Nappanee, Ind.
On March
5, 1927, in Bremen, Ind., Mildred and Noble E. Reese were united
in marriage. They were married for 61 years. Noble preceded her
in death on Nov. 15, 1989.
Mildred was a homemaker, working alongside
her husband on the family farm. She had a truck patch and
provided for her family with her gardening. She also substitute
taught for many years at the LaVille High School.
Committed to her faith, she was a lifetime
member of the Shiloh
Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School and worked for
many years with the Missionary Society.
Mildred will be lovingly remembered by her
family. Surviving are one daughter, six sons and their families
which include 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Her daughter, Arlene and Paul Ingerham,
live in Frederickstown,
Ohio. Her sons are: Kent and Arleen Reese, Gale and Shirley
Reese, all of Plymouth; Roger and Diane Reese of Bremen,
Ellsworth and Joan Reese of Olympia, Washington, Omer and Beverly
Reese of Evanston, Illinois, and Dan and Annette Reese of Milton,
Wisconsin. Mildred Cramer, a sister-in-law, of Plymouth, also
survives.
In addition to her parents and her
husband, Mildred was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenyon,
Roy and Don Kauffman, and one grandson, Kent Reese, Jr.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Michigan St., Plymouth,
and for one hour prior to the service in the church on Wednesday.
The Reverends John Perkinson, Pastor of
the Shiloh Wesleyan Church
and Barry Fawcett of the Columbia City Wesleyan Church will
officiate at funeral services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Shiloh
Church, 10532 4 B Road, Plymouth. Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made in Milfred's
name to the Shiloh Church.
