Floyd A. Reed, 78, of 913 E. 3rd St., a lifetime resident of this vicinity, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Hospital. He had been in ill health for the last three years.

Mr. Reed was associated for many years with his father, the late H. W. Reed, in the H. W. Reed and Sons Construction Co. He was born near Jamestown, Baugo Twp., Elkhart County, and married Maybelle Steele in Plymouth, Jan. 15, 1931.

Surviving are his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Le Blanc and Mrs. Homer Bauwens, both of Mishawaka and Mrs. Warren Young, of South Bend; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Levi Nichols, of Mishawaka and Mrs. H. F. Blackburn, of South Bend; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. A. J. White, of Redwood Falls, Minn.

Friends may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel after 6 p.m. Saturday and until the funeral services there at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. Robert J. Yunker, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
