SOUTH BEND - Charles A. Reed Sr., 88, of Parliament Drive, died of natural causes at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday in his home. Mr. Reed retired as a self-employed printer. He was born Dec. 30, 1905, in Trego, Wis., and had lived in South Bend since May 1993, coming from St. Paul, Minn.

On June 4, 1927, in St. Paul, he married Edythe M. White. She survives with two daughters, Phyllis Linder of Moline, Ill., and Cheryl Gazzarari of Waterford, Mich.; a son, Rev. Charles A. Jr. of South Bend; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mabelle Johnson of Minneapolis. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in St. Paul. Friends may call two hours before services on Saturday in the church. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
