SOUTH BEND - Services for Charles S. Reddy, 77, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, formerly of Park Jefferson Apartments, who died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Basilica. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, where a family tribute will be at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.

Mr. Reddy retired in 1986 from the University of Notre Dame as the insurance officer after 20 years of service and was a business law and insurance instructor at Holy Cross College. He was born June 12, 1916, in St. Louis, and lived in South Bend most of his life.

On June 5, 1943, in Gulfport, Miss., he married Hannah L. Moran. She died March 26, 1987. He is survived by five daughters, Patricia M. Reddy and Kathleen A. Reddy, both of Edwardsburg, Mary L. Reddy of Kalamazoo, Pamela Sue Rea of Medford, N.J., and Elizabeth A. Dolembo of Michigan City; two sons, Michael S. of Osceola and Dennis C. of South Bend; and nine grandchildren. He was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, University Club, was a graduate of Notre Dame and a veteran of World War II.
