SOUTH BEND - Florraine Faye (Newhouse) Redding 88, of
South Bend, Indiana passed away Friday, October 24, 2008 in Holy
Cross Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. She was born
on March 1, 1920 in South Bend, Indiana to the union of the late
DeWitte and Esther Newhouse. She retired after many years
of service as a domestic keeper and seamstress. She was educated
in South Bend Community School Corporation and was a long life
resident of South Bend. Mrs. Redding was the mother of three
sons; Kevin McCall, Micheal T. Redding, and Terri Cephus
all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death
by her twin sister, Lorriane Mae Newhouse Loving. She leaves to
cherish her memory one brother, DeWitte Newhouse of New York, New
York; two loving grandchildren, Michael S. Redding of Denver,
Colorado and Jenika "Niki" Redding of South Bend, two
great-grandchildren Jordan Gates and Brianna Redding; and
a cousin James "Jimbo" Robinson; a special
daughter-in-law whom she resided with for the past six years,
Rosie (Lark) Redding, whom became not only a trusted friend and
confidant, but also her main caretaker along with five other
ladies, Mary, Marjorie, Lue, Denyse, and Velma.
Funeral Service will be Friday, October 31, 2008, in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home Inc., 2702 Lincolnway West. Visitation: 10 a.m. & Funeral services: at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
