SOUTH BEND - Edgar Redding Jr., 64, of 4340 Wimbleton Court, died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Redding retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

He was born July 1, 1929, in South Bend. Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Murray of South Bend; three grandchildren; a sister, Juanita Harvell of South Bend; and a brother, Allen of South Bend. He was a member of LaSalle Landing Elks Lodge 298, Charles E. Thompson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9733 and Usher Board of Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, and was an Army veteran.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Alford's Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
