MISHAWAKA - Edward Raymond, 80, died on Tuesday. Survivors: wife,
Gertrude; daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Longley of Granger &
Jackie (Remi) VanBuskirk of Lapaz; 3 grandchildren; & a
sister, Alice (Richard) Curren. Services will be 3 PM Friday in
the Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South
Bend, where friends may visit one hour prior to services.

MISHAWAKA - Edward H. Raymond, 80, residing in Mishawaka, passed
away at 11:58 am Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in St. Joseph Regional
Medical Center. He was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on
December 2, 1931 to the late Clayton Wheeler and Mary Margaret
(Richards) Raymond. On September 12, 1953 in Mishawaka, Edward
married the former Gertrude May Healy, who survives. In addition
to his loving wife, Gertrude, Edward is survived by two
daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Longley of Granger and Jackie (Remi)
VanBuskirk of Lapaz; three grandchildren, Erica Longley, Nathan
VanBuskirk and Haley VanBuskirk; and sister, Alice (Richard)
Curren of Fitchburg, MA. He was preceded in death by his sister,
Nancy Sicard; and two brothers, John and Clayton Raymond. Edward
served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He
retired from the Bendix Corporation in 1988 after 33 years of
service and attended Harris Prairie Church of Christ. Edward
loved spending time with his family, especially his
grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, gardening and classic cars.
Funeral services for Edward will be 3:00 PM Friday, June 1, 2012
in Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South
Bend, with Rev. Ed Erskin, pastor of Northway Church of Christ,
officiating. Military graveside services and burial will follow
in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may visit with the
family one hour prior to services on Friday in the funeral home.
