Marylou Rankel, 69, of Mishawaka, Ind.,
passed away on Saturday, June 19, in Saint Joseph's Regional
Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Marylou was born on Jan. 14,
1930, in Westmoreland, Tenn., to Albert H. Williams and
Hettie May Duffer. On Dec. 18, 1984, she married George J.
Rankel in Mishawaka. She is survived by her loving husband; seven
children, Peggy Vincent of North Vernon, Ind., Carol Yard
of Kokomo, Ind., Margaret Ann Hackard of Frankfort, Ind.,
Doris Mae Langenderfer of South Bend, Nancy Jo Mann
of Mishawaka, Adamaria LaCluyse of Mishawaka and Larry Lee
Eidson of Sheridan, Ind. Stepchildren include Terry Rankel
of Spokane, Wash., James Rankel of Buchanan, Mich., and Richard
Rankel of Dowagiac, Mich. She is also survived by a brother,
David Williams of Anaheim, Calif.; two sisters, Mildred Schull
of Tipton, Ind., and Margaret Wyatt of Mesa, Ariz.; and by
21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rankel was a
member of America Legion Auxiliary Post #308 in Osceola, Ind., as
well as a member of the Mishawaka Moose.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Marylou was a devoted and extraordinary mother, wife and grandmother, and will be missed dearly.
