SOUTH BEND -  Helen M. Rajski, 73, of Grant Road, South B end, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Saint Joseph's Care Center. Mrs. Rajski was born on May 7, 1928, in St. Joseph County, Ind., and was a lifetime resident of the South Bend area.

On Aug. 5, 1950, in St. Joseph County, as Helen M. Michael, she married Conrad L. Rajski, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Frances E. (David) Marshall of South Bend; three sons, Gerald F. (Sue) Rajski, M ark A. (Vicky) Rajski and Conrad A. Rajski, all of South Bend; and by three grandchildren and one great- grandchild, whom she loved and cherished. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey F. Rajski on June 19, 1998. Helen is also survived by five sisters, Mary Donahue of Mishawaka, Ind., Dorothy Matthys and Virginia Weaver, Shirley Hunsberger and Joyce Horvath, all of South Bend; and by two brothers, Leo Michael of Mishawaka and Lawrence Michael of California. Mrs. Rajski retired from the Colvert Packaging Company in South Bend after many years of service.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service time, from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family request that all memorial contributions be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extend deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Rajski family.
