Jim Ragsdale, 55, of Jackson Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001. He was born on Jan. 7, 1946 in Benton Harbor, Mich. and had lived in South Bend since 1957.

On April 24, 1965, in South Bend, he married Kathleen "Kathy" Schreiner, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Suzanne Ragsdale of Chicago; two sons, Brent (Becky) Ragsdale of Mishawaka and Damon (Alice) Ragsdale of Indianapolis, Ind.; his mother, Helen Ragsdale of Hopkins, S.C.; four grandchildren, Jessica, Bryant, Derek and Isabella; and two brothers, Kenny Ragsdale of Mishawaka, Ind., and Larry Ragsdale of Hopkins, S.C. Mr. Ragsdale was the President of Anchor Conveyor, a member of the National Studebaker Club and the Iron Workers Local 292.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 EAST IRELAND ROAD, South Bend. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
