MISHAWAKA - Carol Louise Ragsdale, 60, went to be with the
Lord on Saturday, August 16, 2008, due to an automobile accident.
She was born in South Bend, IN, on July 19, 1948, and was a
lifelong area resident. She is survived by her loving husband,
Kenneth Roy Ragsdale; her three daughters, Kimberly Sue (Knute) Heirman,
Jennifer Louise (Rocco) Mammolenti and Heather Lynne Hack,
and her former husband, Chris Hack; 10 grandchildren, Ashlee,
Spencer and Shannon Heirman of Seminole, FL, Alexis and Hanna
Hack of Mishawaka, Rocco, Liliana, Julia, Lina and Maria
Mammolenti of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her
parents, Earl and Louise Hartup. Surviving siblings
include three brothers and a sister, John Hartup of Ossian, IN,
Dan Hartup of South Bend, IN, Mark Hartup of Dallas, TX, Sue
Brown of Dallas, TX, and their families. Carol was employed by
Aldi's in the Elkhart/Goshen area. All who knew her knew how much
she loved her husband of 42 years, her daughters and her
grandchildren. She enjoyed relaxing in the sunshine, cooking for
her family, and pleasant talks with her closest friends. She was
loved by all who knew her. She was the most gentle, kindhearted
soul. Many have cherished her sense of goodness and ability to
uplift one's spirits. She passed before her time and will be
missed by all who knew her.
Please join the family for a celebration of Carol's life on Wednesday, Aug. 20th, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Matterhorn Conference Center, 2041 Cassopolis St. in Elkhart, IN. Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in memory of Carol be made to the Kenneth Ragsdale Memorial Fund, in care of Teacher's Credit Union.
