Rosalie E. DeCook Ragis, 88, of
Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away on
Wednesday, June 5, in Arizona. Rosalie was the owner of DeCook's
Inn in Mishawaka. She had lived in the area until 1970 when she
moved to Arizona. She was born on May 11, 1914, in South Bend, to
Frank and Rose Lanko. Rosalie was preceded in death by her
two husbands, Frank DeCook and William Ragis; a sister,
Mary Chick; and by three brothers, John Lanko, Frank Lanko
and Michael Lanko Sr. She is survived by a sister, Helen Claeys
of South Bend; a brother, Ernest Lanko of Laguna Niguel,
Calif.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church.
