Przestwor, 81, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of South Bend, IN, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. Stanley was born on November 9, 1928, in South Bend, to Stanley "Steven" Przestwor Sr. and Isabell (Campbell) Przestwor. He retired on February 6, 1989, from the South Bend Fire Department, where he was employed as a firefighter for 31 years. On June 26, 1954, in South Bend, he married Edith M. Woodcox, who preceded him in death on March 4, 1995. Also preceding him in death were two siblings, Isabell Kuzmicz and Ralph Przestwor. Survivors include his daughter, Catherine (Steven) Bainaka of Carmel, IN; two sons, Stephen (Robin) Przestwor and Douglas Przestwor, both of South Bend, IN; five grandchildren, Casey (David) Garamoni, Kyle Bainaka, Kelly Bainaka, Everett (Jenny) Przestwor and Stephanie (Jeff) Fye; three great-grandchildren, Julie, Jason and Brandon; and two sisters, Eleanor Gentry and Genevieve Kaczmarek, both of South Bend, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Stanley was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of American Legion Post #50.
