SOUTH BEND - Virgil L. Pritchard Jr., 70, of South Bend, IN, died at 3:40 PM Friday, April 11, 2008, in his home. He was born on August 19, 1937, to the late Virgil L. Sr. and Elizabeth (Speid) Pritchard in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with his parents, one sister, Eleanor Kent, preceded him in death. Mr. Pritchard retired in 2000 as a truck driver from the South Bend Community School Corporation after 40 years.

On August 12, 1972, he married Arleen M. Motuelle at Fulkerson Baptist Church in Niles, MI. He is survived by his loving wife, Arleen of 35 years; one son, Kevin L. (fiancée, Lindsey Pajak) Pritchard of Osceola, IN; one sister, Betty Pritchard of North Webster, IN; and one brother, Jack (Donna) Pritchard of Florida. Virgil attended Granger Community Church, and was an avid fisherman.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Monday, April 14, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 15, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Waltz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
