13, 1941 - Jan. 21, 2010SOUTH BEND - Gwendolyn "Gwen" B. Powell, 69, of South Bend, IN, passed away January 21, 2010. Born January 13, 1941, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Mildred Burriage. They preceded her in death, along with her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Nancy Powell. Gwen was a fabulous mother and loving grandma and great-grandma. She is survived by her three children, Rod (Laura) Powell of Rochester, IN, Ken (Judy) Powell of Kansas City, KS, and Heather Dixon of South Bend; six grandchildren, Mike, Danny, Jessica, Brandie, Cassie and Christopher; and six great-grandchildren, Nyah, Chloe, Liam, Logan, Kylie and Alex. She will be remembered as being very honest and having a strong will. She was a great cook and good friend to many. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in her name, to the COPD Research Foundation.
