Albert Powell

Albert Powell, born February 8, 1917,
in Covington, Indiana, to the late Mabel Clair (Hickman)
and James Franklin Powell, passed away on Tuesday, September 4,
2001 in South Bend, after a brief illness.
He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and
was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He worked as a
tool and die maker in South Bend and Niles until his retirement.
Since 1962 he lived on Diamond Lake, Cassopolis, Michigan where
he built a home.
He was a devoted father and grandfather and
is survived by his daughter, Sally Anne Dunlop of
Livermore, California; and two sons, James P. DeMaegt of
Los Angels, California and Theodore DeMaegt of Gardnerville,
Nevada; four grandchildren, Kimberly DeMaegt, Erica Dunford
and Erin and Emilee Dunlop; and a brother, James Powell of
Covington, Ind. Albert was an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter
and naturalist. He brought joy to all those around him with his
generosity and love and will be missed by all.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday,
September 7, 2001 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day
Saints, 930 Park Place, Mishawaka. Interment will be in
Covington, Ind., at 4 p.m. Friday
