Mishawaka – Bernadette I. Poppe, 82, of Hampton Court, died at 6:20 a.m. today in Countryside Place. Mrs. Poppe retired from the former Sollitt Construction Co. She was born Oct. 20, 1908 in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.
She is survived by a son, Donald of Mishawaka; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marie Housand, Gertrude Doll, Eleanor Norris and Virginia Hurst, all of Mishawaka; and two brothers, Edwin Doll and Bernard Doll Sr., both of Mishawaka.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Editor: Her parents were August Doll and Josephine Sammett. She married Albert Camiel Poppe on 6-14-1933 in Mishawaka.
