Gabriel M. Poelvoorde, 83, of West 8th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Friday, March 30, in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation. Ms. Poelvoorde was born on April 5, 1917, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the late Julius and Lisa (Minnie) Poelvoorde. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Van De Keere, and by a brother, Clement Poelvoorde.

Ms. Poelvoorde is survived by a sister-in-law, Jeanette Poelvoorde of Mishawaka; and by three nieces, Charlene (Ron) Gouker of North Liberty, Ind., Susan (Allen) Schlemmer of Mishawaka and Beth (Tom) Wojciechowski of Mishawaka.

Ms. Poelvoorde was employed by and retired from Michiana Wholesale. She was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today, April 1, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A wake prayer will be said at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 2nd, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church. Rev. Barry England will officiate, and burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Poelvoorde may be made to St. Bavo's Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
