Betty J. Plumb, 73, of Mishawaka,
passed away in her home on the morning of Monday, November 27.
Betty was born on March 3, 1933, in Oklahoma, as the daughter of
Harry and Edith (Sosbe) Butcher. She was preceded
in death by a daughter, Veneita Giles; a stepdaughter,
Patricia Steggmann; a stepson, George "Guy"
Plumb; a brother, Harry Butcher; a sister, Shirley Shepherd;
and her parents, Harry and Edith.
On October 28, 1989, in Cleveland, Ohio, she
married George E. Plumb. She is survived by her loving husband,
George; two daughters, Cindy (Larry) Barnett of
Cassopolis, MI, and Sandra Brown of Mishawaka; a
stepdaughter, Victoria Otis of Quincy, MI; a sister,
Sharon (Gene) Marchesseau of Elkhart, IN; a brother,
Phillip (LaDonna) Butcher of Mishawaka; three grandchildren,
Robert Evans Binder, Daniele Salaiz and Andrew Lee
Brown; four step-grandchildren, Trad, Thax and Shebre Moore, and
Kristy Fawn Steggmann; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan Salaiz,
Gavin Heiden, Cionna Heiden and Amiah Lee Brown; and one
step-great-grandson, Daxon Moore.
Betty was a beautician working from home and
in hospitals and nursing homes. She was a member of Women of the
Moose at the Moose Lodge in Mishawaka where she served in many
offices, including past president. She was also a life member of
VFW Women's Auxiliary where she was a past president. Betty was
an avid bowler, loved ceramics and was a bingo nut.
Family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m.
to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, in the Hahn Funeral Home,
505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where memorial services will be
held at 7:00 p.m.

be made to the Diabetes Association of St. Joseph County, United
Health Services, 711 E Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617.
