Sister Eleanor Plocki OSF, 72, of the
Franciscan Sisters of Chicago, died Thursday at St. Luke’s
Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago.
She was born Feb. 20, 1912 in South Bend,
and joined the order in 1930. Her first profession was in 1933
and final profession in 1936. She was first assigned at St.
Stanislaus Kostka in Youngstown, Ohio as a teacher. For most of
her life she was a nurse, and from 1974 to 1983 she taught at St.
Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr School in Chicago. In 1983 she
retired to the Motherhouse in Lemont, Ill. She is survived by a
sister, Florence VanLake of Mishawaka.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday in the Motherhouse of the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 4 p.m. Monday in the Sacred
Heart Chapel of the General Motherhouse, Internment will follow
in the convent cemetery.
