Eleanor Plencner, 71, of 2424 W. Grace St. died at 9:45 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Plencner was retired from the University of Notre Dame. She was born Nov. 14, 1914, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On May 2, 1936, as Eleanor Lemanski, she married Casimer Plencner, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Daniel and James, both of South Bend; five grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Lippy of Lakeville and Irene Vegh of South Bend; and three brothers, Stanley and Casimir Lemanski, both of South Bend, and Edward Lemanski of Mishawaka. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Adalberts Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today. She was a member of Notre Dame Retirees.
