Services for Mike Platts, 86, of 54632 Edgewater Drive, who died at 10:13 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Entombment will be in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Mr. Platts was born Sept. 16, 1899, in South Bend, where he lived his lifetime. On July 6, 1922, in South Bend, he married Mary J. Robaska. She died Oct. 18, 1977. Surviving are a daughter, Doris Hullinger of South Bend; a son, Edward M. of Sebring, Fla.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Verna Schultz of Mishawaka. Mr. Platts was a groundskeeper at the South Bend Country Club, where he was employed for more than 70 years. He was a member of the Lydick United Methodist Church.
