Andre L. Pittman, Sr., 31, of South Bend, Ind., died on Tuesday, March 16, in South Bend Memorial Hospital. His death followed an extended illness. He was born in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center in South Bend to Diana Williams and Benjamin ''Jackie'' Pittman. He lived here all his life. He attended LaSalle High School, and later enlisted in the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge.

He is survived by a son, Andre L. Pittman, Jr.; a devoted mother, Diana Williams, and stepfather, Robert Williams; his father, Benjamin ''Jackie'' Pittman, and stepmother, Janet Pittman; two sisters, Torrona Williams and Tanisha Pittman; five brothers, Trenton Williams, Damon (Carmen) Mitchell, Shawn Pittman, Tony Pittman and Priest Pittman; two grandmothers, Pearl Williams and Vernel Buchanan; two grandfathers, Ben McFadden and Coleman Vassar. He is also survived by a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the First AME Zion Church, followed by burial at Riverview Cemetery. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home is entrusted with the services.
