Mildred A. Piraccini, age 78, of Monroe Avenue, in South Bend, passed away of natural causes at 8:20 p.m. January 2, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
Mrs. Piraccini was born November 7, 1923, in Camden, New Jersey to George and Catherine (Doyle) White.
Surviving relatives include her son, Richard C. Piraccini of Osceola, daughters, Virginia Piraccini of Mishawaka, Sally A. McDonald of South Bend and Marie A. Piraccini of Mishawaka.
Also surviving is her brother, Richard White of New Jersey, and grandchildren, Nikole Bakowski of Chicago, Illinois, Stephanie McDonald of South Bend, and a great-grandson, Scott Layton of South Bend.
Mildred was preceded in death by a son, A.J. Piraccini.
A graveside service for Mrs. Piraccini will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2002, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Piraccini was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1945. Mildred worked for many years as a waitress. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
